Because none of us are free till all the hostages are free
Dear Global Spokescommunity,
On Passover we remember our long march to freedom, but this Passover—the second in the dungeons of Gaza for 59 hostages—we know that our march to freedom is not over. The fight for freedom is not only our history, it is our present. As we gather around our Seder tables, our hearts remain trapped in Gaza. We celebrate freedom, but we are not really free. Because none of us are free till all the hostages are free. Because right now,up to 24 living hostages are still in chains. Literally in chains.
This year we encourage you to download the Citizen Spokeshaggadah, a special project of the Israeli Citizen Spokespersons’ Office. Inside you will find a special gloss on Ma Nishtana, the Four Children, the Ten Plagues, and Dayenu. Read it together with the traditional Haggadah, to help you and your family reflect on this holiday’s contemporary themes and keep speaking up for our people over Passover.
Am Yisrael Chai,

Michal Cotler-Wunsh, Israel’s Special Envoy for Combating Antisemitism, on ABC Australia:
🇮🇱 1. Israel is fighting a genocidal terror regime, not civilians.
In the face of heartbreaking reports from Gaza, we must remember: Hamas embeds itself in schools, hospitals, and aid convoys — turning civilians into shields and medics into militants. This is not accidental; it’s their strategy.
🕯️ 2. The world demands answers from Israel — but not from Hamas.
When 15 medics are found dead, the world must also ask: Who put them in harm’s way? Yet, Israel alone is placed on trial. No evidence is ever enough, unless it's against Israel. No terror tunnel, hostage, or massacre seems to shift that bias.
🍞 3. Israel is accused of starving Gaza — while Hamas steals the aid.
Israel allows aid into Gaza. Hamas hijacks it. Still, Israel is blamed. No other country would be expected to feed those who just murdered its citizens and are holding its hostages underground.
Eylon Levy, former Israeli government spokesman on Channels TV Nigeria:
🚨 1. Hamas uses ambulances as weapons. The IDF says that six of the so-called medics killed were later identified as Hamas. Hamas routinely uses ambulances to move fighters and weapons, putting real civilians and aid workers in danger — on purpose.
🕵️♂️ 2. Israel investigates itself. Hamas never has.
When the IDF makes a mistake, it launches an independent investigation — led by a major general. That’s accountability. Hamas has never investigated the massacre of Israeli civilians, hostage abuse, or stealing aid. Not once.
⚠️ 3. This happened in an active war zone — one Hamas exploits.
Just an hour before, Hamas terrorists used the same road. They blur the lines between civilian and militant by design— fighting in civilian clothes, from hospitals, inside ambulances — then cry foul when tragedy follows.
⛓️ 4. The war hasn’t ended because Hamas still holds 59 hostages.
Israelis want them home. But Hamas demands thousands of terrorists in exchange — terrorists who will attack again. Most countries don’t pay ransom to jihadists. Israel is being asked to reward the kidnappers.
Michal Cotler-Wunsh, Israel’s Special Envoy for Combating Antisemitism, on Fox News
🚨 1. The Khalil case isn’t about free speech. It’s about criminal conduct.
Khalil didn’t just say something controversial — he acted. He broke Columbia’s rules, violated U.S. immigration law, injured university staff, and attempted to take over buildings by force. That’s not speech. That’s violence.
🧠 2. Hamas support isn’t just anti-Israel — it’s anti-West.
This movement isn’t about Palestinian rights. It’s anti-American, anti-democratic, and seeks to tear down the very society that protects their rights to protest in the first place.
🏛️ 3. Universities have failed. Repeatedly.
For 17 months, elite institutions like Columbia and Yale have ignored their own policies — allowing faculty, students, and outsiders to bully, intimidate, and radicalize. This isn’t free inquiry — it’s ideological capture.
Eylon Levy, former Israeli government spokesman on BBC Radio
⚖️ 1. Israel Enforces Its Laws—Like Any Sovereign Democracy
Israel has every right, like any democracy, to determine who may enter its borders—especially individuals who actively call for its boycott and support efforts to delegitimize it. No country is obligated to welcome those who seek to undermine it.
🌍 2. Holding Allies to Account Is Not Anti-Democratic—It’s Responsible Governance
When elected officials use their platform to promote hostility toward an ally, they should expect consequences. Respecting another nation’s laws—especially in the face of existential threats—is not authoritarianism, it’s national security.
📊 3. A Reliable U.S. Partner—Even When the Costs Are High
While the U.S. imposes tariffs on Israeli goods, Israel imposes none on American imports. Still, it remains a loyal trade partner and key ally, contributing cutting-edge defense and tech innovations. Israel’s commitment to shared democratic values makes it a nation worth defending.
