Episode #100 and a Special Announcement: Douglas Murray
The State of a Nation Podcast is taking a short break—watch this space
Dear Subscribers,
When we launched the State of a Nation podcast in February 2024, we made history.
It was Day 129 of the October 7 War. I was still an official spokesman for the Israeli government—and we knew that to break through the noise, we had to tear up the rulebook. So we did something no government spokesperson had done before: we launched a podcast.
But this wasn’t an official communications channel. It was a rogue operation.
The war caught the Prime Minister’s Office unprepared to fight on the media front. That’s when a team of volunteers stepped in—dropping everything to support Israel’s messaging war. They built a studio, and this podcast, across from the Kirya in Tel Aviv.
When I left my official role, we kept going. State of a Nation became a fully independent civil society platform, supported by generous donors from across the Jewish Diaspora.
Today, we release Episode #100: Part 2 of my conversation with Douglas Murray on democracies, death cults, and the war for civilization.
Over these 100 episodes, I’ve interviewed the people who’ve helped deepen my own understanding—with one goal: to take you between the lines and beyond the headlines. With more than 4 million views on YouTube and 850,000 audio downloads, I hope we’ve helped you have smarter, sharper, more fact-based conversations about Israel and its place in the world.
As the October 7 War enters a new phase, State of a Nation is going on a short hiatus. We’ll be back soon, reimagined and refreshed. In the meantime, you can catch up on the back catalogue on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts—and even El Al’s inflight entertainment system (flights are back, no excuses not to visit!).
I want to thank everyone who helped to build State of a Nation: producer Asher Westropp-Evans; original co-creator Guy Ross; director Lotem Segev; editors Thomas Girsch and Benny Goldman; ICSO team Eli Parkes, Eleanor Carmeli, and Jordana Golding; Dan Dimendberg, Mathilda Heller, Sylvie Hodes, Asher Parkes, Rachel Brookes, and the many other volunteers and interns who made this possible.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Make sure to follow me on social media to be the first to know when the new show is launched.
Stay safe,
Eylon Levy
I love your podcast and wrote a letter to support your role in the government when you were asked to leave. You were such a powerful and effective spokesperson. I never miss an episode and your interviews have given us such important information in advocating to support Israel and the Jewish diaspora. You are such an inspiration. Please don't disappear and let us know when you are back!!!
Elyon, thank you for all you have done so far to keep spreading the good word about Israel and Jews in a time when we sorely need it, especially in the diaspora.
